Description
This program prepares students to translate product ideas into 3D models using computer aided design software (CAD). From these computer generated models, students using 3D printers to produce physical prototypes and industrial parts. In addition, students also use CAD software to create 2D engineering documentation such as shop drawing, P&IDs, and plant layouts.
Students receive instruction in the CAD software package Catia, SolidWorks, and AutoCad. Graduates are typically employed by manufacturing, engineering, and mechanical companies. The Engineering Design Technology programs offers and associate degree in applied science.
